There is nothing more powerful than taking a 2000 year old piece of writing and putting it back into its orginal context.

The Gospels in particular have been through so many contexts over the past 2000 years that they picked up a lot of baggage.

One of the most helpful things we can do to reclaim a Gospel is understand where it came from, who the author(s) actually were, and why they were writing.
