Most of my social media is pretty lame stuff.

There’s obviously a strong Christian algorithm filled with both hilarious Jesus memes and obscure gnostic facts. Vocal coaches and modern Benedictine singers are a large faction of my scroll. And then of course there’s cats doing stupid stuff, especially the orange ones.

So it takes a while before I become aware of a trend. In both life and online I’m usually a couple years behind the fad. I only just now started complimenting people’s ‘fit’ and I still sound cringe even to myself.

So I have no idea how old ‘timeline jumping’ is but all of a sudden it’s everywhere.

Every spiritual-ish bodyworker, health influencer, and life coach are casually dropping the phrase. TikTok, YouTube, and Reddit are full of lists of how you know you’ve timeline jumped. Even Yoga Journal - a subsidiary of the illustrious Outside Magazine - has an article on how to timeline jump.

**Now, I’m usually verrrrrry skeptical of new fad-like spiritual practices.**

They’re usually not that new and often stripped of their ancient lineage and context. Or they’re extremely dramatic and have a lot of blame pictures in them that people use to justify their own bad behavior. Or they’re a quick fix for an uncomfortable problem that actually needs deep work. Or they’re just a common human experience sold to you in a $333, $444, or $555 dollar package.

So when a client asked me recently about her timeline jump I had a prime opportunity to look at the real mechanics of this process. If there’s one thing Miwa Mack - former engineer, current director of the Boulder Psychic Institute - has taught me, it’s to set down the judgements and just look at the mechanics.

Here’s what the timeline jump looked like to me.

Quite simply, this person had cleared enough internal societal progamming that they could now see clearly what was true all along; their divinity.

Let’s pause here for Jesus, y’all. In Luke 17 he’s laying down some harsh teachings about how our egos will kill us but humility and asking for help are the path to the Kingdom of God. This, of course, is damn near impossible for the corrupt priests who fancy themselves experts on all matters.

After a particularly poignant public healing the Pharisees ask Jesus when this supposed Kingdom of God is going to come, as they have their own calculations involving many long and expensive temple rituals that don’t quite fit with his.

He replies, in King James’ english, “The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”

In other words, you can’t see it *gestures vaguely* out there somewhere with the naked eye.

Now here come’s the linguistic nerdery; this word ‘within’ is more than it seems.

The Greek word in the scriptures is entos. Jesus uses this word only twice in the gospels and it’s all about the marked difference between an external show of holiness and a true internal transformation.

This scripture, coming directly after a very public healing that attracted the attention of the outwardly showy Pharisees, is Jesus’ attempt to say yet again that the real show is within.

What’s more, if you try and point out the Kingdom of God - lo here, lo there! - then you for sure haven’t found it. The only place, Jesus says, where God’s eternal reign actually exists is within the transformed human heart.

You don’t have to fork out any exhorbitant temple fees to go access the Kingdom of God.

You don’t have to sacrifice a goat worth three month’s wages to see it. And you definitely don’t have to pay criminally high exchange rates to the money changers in the Temple courtyard to gain entrance to it.

The Kingdom of Heaven is within and any corrupt ancient priest of any faith, prosperity gospel preacher, or megachurch pastor flying a private jet knows this puts them right out of business.

So what does the Kingdom of Heaven have to do with a timeline jump?

Well I’ve had a chance to look at a few timeline jumpers since that first client. Bad news, you haven’t jumped anywhere. But that’s the good news too.

You see, that timeline you’re hoping to get to - the one where all your relationships are healthy and sweet, where the fuckery and bullshit fall away, where the dream job lands in your lap, and where everyone is healed of their childhood trauma - it's already here. No surprise, it’s within.

The mechanics of timeline jumping, as far as I can see, just look like you in the same place you always were but brighter, clearer, and more awake than before.

Here are some examples of timeline jumps I’ve seen.

Without that family picture sitting in your personal power space saying you’ll never amount to anything, you’re suddenly aware of the pure potential around you at all times.

Once you’ve offloaded that unworthiness picture sitting in your self-image space ever since the supposed love of your life cheated on you last year, you suddenly connect with the endless flow of self-love coming from the stars.

And now that you’ve cleared the belief sitting in your spiritual knowing space that says you’re inherently bad and deserve punishment, that toxic boss is suddenly laughable and you find yourself applying for jobs with people who actually want to support your growth and success.

So carry on, you crazy timeline jumpers. But just remember, you don’t have to go very far at all. The timeline you crave is already within. I’ll meet you there.
