Mary, Mother of Light

Mary loves to make an apparition. Since her incarnation as the physical mother of the Christed Jesus, she has appeared hundreds of times through the centuries.
She’s appeared in Mexico, Ireland, France, Belgium, Brasil, Portugal, Ecuador, Italy, America, Japan, Nicaragua, Rwanda, Argentina, Venezuela, Spain, America, India, Vietnam, China, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Syria, and more.
When she appears she calls herself the Queen of Heaven, the Lady of Divine Indwelling, the Immaculate Conception made manifest, Our Lady of Good Success, and the Virgin of the Golden Heart.
People have seen her wearing a white robe with rays of blue and a crown of light, or seated on a gold throne near a maple tree accompanied by an angel, or wearing a blue gown covered with golden stars with a black veil under a golden crown.
She speaks to people in their own language, and appears to them in everyday situations.
Mary especially loves to appear to children all over the world and when priests ask the children what she looks like, they almost always say “She just looks like my mom” and can’t describe her much beyond that.
There’s a lot of hype around Jesus - for good reason - but Jesus didn’t just come out of nowhere. He came from Mary, who also didn’t just come from nowhere but was herself the most recent in a long line of advanced temple adepts and so-called immaculate conceptions.

In fact, there’s a whole Gospel-style narrative about Mary that was never included in the Bible.
I ignored it until about a year ago because it’s called “The Infancy Gospel of James.” I’m not interested in any James guy let alone what happened in his infancy, so for years I skipped over this one when I went poking around in the Nag Hammadi scriptures.
But it turns out it’s just James who wrote it. The whole thing is all about Mary and her parents, Anna and Joachim. Mary wasn’t some simple virgin just la-di-da-ing around Bethlehem waiting for something to do with her life when an angel found her.
Mary was actually already an advanced spiritual master before she was even three years old.
Since I’ve found this scripture, I’ve had to totally change my idea of who Mary was and is. I used to dismiss her and her apparitions as, like, Catholic superstition. But the truth is I think we could use a lot more Mary right now. The world could really benefit from some powerfu Mom energy, and I think Mary is just the one to bring it.
I’ll be writing a lot more about Mary in the next few weeks because this year I’ll be offering a digital Advent course all about Mother Mary, the Infancy Gospel of James, and some pretty fantastic teachings on just how she became such a powerful manifester. I mean, all babies are cute but it takes a special kind of woman to manifest a Jesus.

Ok, so we’re actually raising a greenhouse but you’re invited to join. My husband and I are building this greenhouse as part of our vision for bringing more healing and medicine to our communities (more about that in person!) and we need lots of help.
Come before, during, or after the No Kings march, bring your tools, and please join us for an old-fashioned potluck dinner with lots of casseroles and pies. We’ll also be offering land prayers, blessings, and building a medicine wheel as our teachers showed us.
