John Muir, Michelle Obama, and Donald Trump
A crash course on karma and the soul’s journey…
I had the rare pleasure of sitting up all night with a sacred fire this last weekend.
Over the course of the night, the fire tender raked the coals into different shapes. The one shape I saw over and over was a flaming heart. It reminded me of the one I often see shining out from the center of Mary, Jesus, and many a saint.
I used to put the saints on a pedestal and pray to them from down below. Like, “You’re so mighty and far away so please reach down and help your little sister here.”
But the teachings say that the pedestal is an illusion; they’re just further down the path than me.
And what’s more, every saint and enlightened master has been where I’ve been. They’ve been lost, confused, angry, mean, small-hearted, and stubborn.
In fact they’re able to help and teach us so much precisely because they’ve been where we’ve been. They remember what it was like to be so stuck and scared. They know the feeling of being trapped and not seeing any way out.
They know the the terror of a government collapsing and cowards jumping ship (Ahem, Tom Souzzi and co.) because they’ve a) been left behind on the sinking ship and b) sank many a ship themselves, believe it or not.

As we all know, Jesus Christ was a king. Like, the king.
But the soul that lived the Jesus lifetime had already been a king of some kind many times. A petty tyrant, a mad king, an abdicator, a king of the used car lot, you name it.
For that soul to get to the point where it knew that the only kind of king who lasts is one who truly serves and heals, it had to be exactly the opposite in a hundred different ways.
And the same is true for all of us. The main reason we know deep within our hearts that terrorizing and imprisoning people doesn’t solve anything or make anyone feel safer or happier is because we’ve already tried that exact solution in probably a few lifetimes.
The other thing about Jesus? We’re all headed that way whether we like it or not.
I’m not saying we’re all meant to be Christians. I’m saying we’re all on the sainted path as a guarantee. Like, ALL OF US will one day be enlightened healers, saints, and masters. It’s a certainty.
And as I stared at that flaming heart burning through the night this weekend I realized that I had been excluding certain people from that path. Not like I can stop the soul’s journey but in my mind I realized I had decided some (many) people on this planet right now were actually evil; not saintly at all.
I wrote about his last week but needed that heart fire to remind me again how wrong I was.

You see, Trump is the same kind of soul as Jesus. I know, 🤮.
According to some of the most interesting and powerful teachings I’ve encountered, Trump is also a king soul. You know who else are king souls? Michelle Obama, John Muir, Thich Nhat Hanh, and of course Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
So what does this mean? It means that all those incredible people were once Donald Trumps. And it means that in a very distant future, the soul that is Trump will one day be an Obama, a Muir, and finally a Christ.
This kind of boggles the mind. Nevertheless it’s true.
So how do we work with that kind of information?
For me, it gives me a very specific prayer to pray for this country. And I’m not just talking about a little prayer for healing or blessing, though those are important.
I’m talking about the big ass prayers that really mean something and can actually help us all along. It might go something like this:
Holy spirit of all consciousness and precious life
This is your mighty daughter Cindy asking a special blessing for our political leaders right now
Whatever immense soul lesson they’re desperately trying to learn with this incredible destruction and violence
Bless them with that lesson, help them learn it FULLY. TODAY.
Or in Your own time as you see fit, Spirit
Enflame their hearts with the wisdom they are seeking
Incinerate anything within them that would separate them from your power, love, and presence
Remove all obstacles of ego, greed, and temptation from their sainted path so they may know their true soul’s purpose
Remind them, Spirit, where they are ultimately headed and show them the shortcuts of service, humility, and self-honesty
Bless them with clear eyes and the direct experience of the golden rule, showing them that what they do unto others they do to themselves tenfold
Send them teachers, a loving guru, and the priceless gift of consciousness itself
And in the meantime Spirit, be with us and illuminate our own sainted hearts as we fight for the liberation and awakening of all beings
