Jesus and the Psychic Path

Rev. Cindy with a giant rose! The rose is one of the most powerful psychic tools and there’s a reason Mary, Jesus, and the saints loved them…

When I first started psychic work it seemed like magic.

As I was building my psychic certainty I would see strange things in people’s energies and doubt myself. So for example, someone would ask me what their next steps should be with their job and I would see a yellow slug in their heart chakra.

I asked Spirit to clarify what the heck that meant, adding the reminder to Spirit that I’m a little dense sometimes and need Her to make things obvious. The yellow slug would just get brighter.

Finally I would just say “Ok, I have no idea what this means but I’m seeing a yellow slug in your heart…” and they’d go, “Oh my God I saw a dream job posting at UC Santa Cruz! Their mascots are the banana slugs!”

Turns out Spirit was making it as obvious as could be.

I went deeper and deeper into the clairvoyant world. My psychic certainty and ability to see energy got stronger and more interesting. What I used to feel as hunches I could now see as inner energetic mechanics. Everything from tangled ancestry to lung disease to land ghosts from the 1800s started to become clear.

But it all felt like a side quest to my main mission of being a minister. And I kept it secret for a long time.

But one summer I read Autobiography of a Yogi by (you know it!) Paramahansa Yogananda.

I thought of this guy as like, a very serious spiritual master and thought that I should read his book if I was also going to be a very serious minister. Surprise surprise, the joke was one me. First of all, the dude is so funny and tells jokes non-stop.

But what really caught my attention was a chapter where he describes losing and then finding a beloved disciple. The disciple is close to death and is despairing because he doesn’t want to be separated from his beloved master. Yogananda tells him they will be reunited shortly and he will make sure of that.

The disciple dies and for the next few years, whenever Yogananda goes to a new city he holds up his hand like a little satellite dish and turns it this way and that feeling for the psychic energy of his disciple.

He eventually finds him using this strange technique 4 or 5 years later, they reunite in joy, and Yogananda recommends to the parents that they send their spiritually advanced child for training, which they do.

In another story, a woman approaches Yogananda and asks him to hold her baby.

He strangely refuses and the woman walks away dissapointed. When his students ask him why he didn’t want to hold the baby he responds, “Oh if you could only seek the karma!”

In other words, this incredible spirirtual master is not only very funny (like another spiritual master I know, wink wink (not me, Jesus!)) but also very psychic!

I’ve continued to absorb Yogananda’s teachings, including his massive take on the Gospels, The Second Coming of Christ. I’ve also discovered that every enlightened being in almost every tradition is also very, very psychic. Why? How? What’s the meaning of it all?

An old and blurry yet charming picture of Yogananda laughing

Being a psychic and being an enlightened master have one very important quality in common: the ability to see the truth.

Jesus, Yogananda, Buddha, Ramana Maharshi, and others were all so powerful and compelling to their followers because they could actually see them. Not who society thought they were, not who their families told them they were, and honestly not even who they believed they were*. But the real them; the eternal spirit unharmed and unharmable, made of light and energy, and fully liberated in all times and all places.

And who doesn’t want to be seen for what they really are? We all do! We crave it and we actually need it for our spiritual wellbeing. When we’re not seen for who we are - human, alive, worthy of the right to exist and have freedom and joy - the results are devastating.

This is the heart of my upcoming course, The Gospel of John Unbound.

We’re not just going through the scripture itself, which is wild and beautiful on it’s own. I’m also taking you step-by-step through the psyschic practices I’ve learned over the past five years (and many lifetimes) that Jesus himself does.

When he told us “All this you shall do and more” I take him at his word and together in this course we’re going to try to do what he did, or at least start along the path.

I’ll see you there.

*I know that sounds like AI wrote it and hell no it didn’t. I love writing too much to ever hand this newsletter over to AI. You can count on that.

Eight live and recorded weekly sessions starting June 3rd.

MODULE SIX: HEALING AND SIGHT

Two of the most radical healing stories in John's Gospel share a common thread: both challenge the idea that suffering is punishment. At the Pool of Bethesda Jesus heals a man who has been sick for 38 years and confronts a broken system that made sick people compete for a chance to get better.

In John 9, he gives sight to a man who was born blind, and then watches as the religious leaders throw that same man out of his community. Both stories ask the same question: what does it actually cost to see the truth clearly, and are you ready for that?

Students will gain:

  • The ability to examine the belief that God gives suffering as punishment

  • Tools for recognizing long-standing patterns in your life and understanding what it takes for those patterns to finally shift

  • A way of seeing the social cost of spiritual clarity

  • An understanding of why your own lived experience is one of the most powerful forms of spiritual authority you have

Read about the other Modules on the website.

Course starts June 3rd! It’s gonna be wild, folks. I’ll see you there.
