I Hope All My Clients Fire Me Someday

A crossroads appears whenever a student exceeds their teacher.

This is inevitable if the teacher is doing their job. They’ve given everything they know to their student and the student takes it one step further. Or many steps if they’ve had a really good teacher.

The crossroads will then appear in front of the master and it can go a couple different ways. The master can bow before their pupil and enjoy a little role reversal. The wise ones know they can also continue to teach and guide, even as they themselves learn.

But sometimes it goes bad and the teacher’s ego rears its head.

I’ve seen teachers turn on their own students, cutting them down with gossip and fear disguised as self-righteousness. I’ve seen teachers exile former students who get too big. I’ve seen teachers dismiss the wisdom and even warnings their own students bring them, often at their peril.

I’ve even seen whole communities fall apart when a spiritual teacher refuses to honor their student’s growth.

This is on my mind because many of my own clients and students are doing really well.

And it’s intimidating! I’m amazed at the wisdom I’ve heard, the self-confidence that has developed, and the depth of study that rivals my own. I see that little ego in me that wants to always be the one with the best answers. I feel myself nurturing a small grain of sand of envy that may one day become a pearl of resentment.

So I want to call myself out right here and say, in writing, I hope that all my clients eventually do better than me, much better.

I hope that every single person I work with eventually no longer needs my help.

In fact, that’s going to be my mid-year reorientation point. For all my offerings - healings, readings, counseling, courses - and moving forward I’m going to do everything I can to show you how to do these things yourself.

How? Like this:

Group Healings (Next session on Thursday May 21st!):

Every session will be half healing, half coaching on how to step into personal sovereignty (the shortcut to rapid healing), see what’s actually going wrong, and feel empowered to restore it quickly and effortlessly. Enroll here.

Monthly Special (May is Jobs and Career):

I’ll get us started by identifying three or four key areas that are current stumbling blocks. This could be family beliefs, institutional programming, or karmic lessons (which can actually be quite healing!). Then I’ll teach you how to heal these within yourself and send you home with some actually fun homework.

1-on-1 Counseling and Mentorship:

Ok this is where the fun really begins! In these sessions we have a whole field of wisdom to explore, build with, transform, and discover. We’ll do a combination of reading, healing, and guided meditations to show you how I do that work and ways to do it yourself. I love the insights my mentorship clients discover when they’re sitting in their own seat of power.

Courses like The Gospel of John Unbound

I’m not just going to teach you the material. I’m going to teach you how I learn. It’s like a teaching a woman to fish kind of situation. Next up is the Gospel of John which I’ve discovered goes wayyyyyy to deep for one lil theologian named Cindy to cover. I literally need your help to show me what I’ve missed and to be a living Gospel yourself as we explore this incredible ancient text.

I’ll see you there, then, please fire me and show me the path! ;)

In Spirit,

Cindy

Eight live weekly sessions start Wednesday June 3rd. Recorded for later viewing.

MODULE FIVE: A HOME IN SPIRIT

Of all the spiritual practices taught in John's Gospel, one rises above all others: menō which meansabiding, remaining,  and making your home. This strikes at the modern Christian notion of faith as striving, performing, or achieving spiritual correctness. Menō means staying.

The vine and branches teaching is the most intimate description of the divine-human relationship in all of scripture.  It reveals a mutual indwelling and continuous life flow between source and branch.

In this session we'll explore what abiding actually feels like in the body, why pruning is a real and necessary spiritual process rather than punishment, and why this teaching is the heart of the whole course.

Read about the other Modules on the website.

Course starts June 3rd! It’s gonna be wild, folks. I’ll see you there.
