Forgiving the Graveyard of the Past
I’ve been noticing that forgiveness is really a theme on the planet right now. What makes me say that? Because it seems like there are so many completely unforgivable things happening. Which usually means that Spirit is giving us a huge opportunity to practice something we’re not that good at yet; or at least something I’m not that good at yet.
I’ve also noticed more than a few spiritual teachers are pursuing deeper understandings of forgiveness, both for themselves and for their students. One of my favorite teachers - Jesus - arguably only taught forgiveness. In fact, when I read the scriptures with that in mind I see that not only did he teach forgiveness but he taught that the Royal Road of Self-Forgiveness could heal just about anything.
All kinds of people came to Jesus holding onto stories of blame and self-blame that were making them very very sick. And his work, using a variety of methods, was to ‘un-blame’ or forgive them their stories and by doing this make them well.
Another modern teacher, Carolyn Myss, talks extensively about the Mystical Law of Forgiveness to which we are all bound and which provides miraculous healings for all kinds of un-wellness. She says:
“The heroic choice to forgive isn’t easy…but neither is living in a psychic cemetery where you confer with problematic corpses on a regular basis.”
Yeah, I’m way guilty of conferring with problematic corpses and declining to make the heroic choice to forgive. I never wanted to be a hero, I just didn’t want to be hurt. But the truth is this mystical law of forgiveness is for me, too. And when I’m at the very least willing to forgive, healing miracles start happening in my life almost immediately.
To this end, I spent the early summer collecting and putting together all the best forgiveness practices I know and created a course called The Alchemy of Forgiveness. I’ve been amazed at what’s changed in people’s lives who’ve taken this course. Learn more about the course here or sign-up below for one year access. Each student also gets one complimentary healing or counseling session with me to address whatever may have been stirred up by the course.
